Olympic Village Inn (OVI) is a great place to stay if you plan to ski at Squaw Valley. It is just a few hundred yards from the lifts, and they run a shuttle all day so you don't have to haul your skis back and forth. OVI consists of hotel-like condos that are rented out by the night or week. It has a real family atmosphere, as most of the guests are owners/time shares. The rooms are rather small for a family, and aren't elaborate. But they provide a stove, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, pots and pans, plates and utensils, etc. They provide a valet for your skis. The room was warm at night. There was lots of hot water for showers. The heated swimming pool and hot tubs provided a nice way to relax after a hard day of skiing. Guests at OVI get a 20 discount on Ski rentals at the Inn Shop, and children pay only $5 per day for lift tickets. Overall, a fine place to stay for skiing Squaw. Can't beat the location.
