Santiago

Not that impressed with Santiago - it is not a very pretty city.  I would like to see more of the country areas of Chile some day though - particularly the glaciers and the Patagonia area.

Spent the morning looking around the city and the afternoon on Cerro San Cristobal hill which overlooks the city and has some nice parks and a zoo.  Saw African elephants for the first time (the ones with the really big ears).

There are heaps of dogs on the streets in South America - just about every kind imaginable.  They all lie around during the day and are really street savvy - in that they cross the road on the green light and never seem to run in front of cars.  They look healthy enough too - which is nice to see.
